Terms:
Customers that pay for product with cash, cashiers check, or money
order will receive a check from The Company for returns - such as cores,
new returns,, etc. as soon as these returns are processed.
When credit
cards are used to pay for product, a credit will be applied to that
card holder from The Company for returns such as cores, new returns, etc.
as soon as these returns are processed.
Freight
Policy:
All products are shipped "Freight Collect" when shipped
by common carrier, unless we specifically state otherwise at the
time the order is placed. Customers refusing freight shipments will
be responsible for freight charges.
New merchandise or cores returned for credit (by common carrier)
shall be shipped to us "Freight Prepaid" unless otherwise
instructed. For lowest freight rate on cores, the bill of lading
should read, "Used Auto Parts having value for reconditioning
or scrap only #70."
Freight Damage
Procedures - when damage occurs in shipment you should contact the
freight carrier and file a claim for the damage. The Company is not responsible
for freight damage by common carriers or UPS.
Core
Policy:
ALL EXCHANGE
CORES MUST BE OF EXACT SAME YEAR AND TYPE AS PURCHASED. Engine Cubic
Inch change (Exp. 305 C.I. to 350 C.I.) may be purchased as cores
only - no greater than 1/2 of core charge of the unit being returned,
not the unit purchased. The Company will on occasion allow exceptions to
this policy with prior approval. Exceptions will be subject
to factory inspection and will be credited based on a core purchase
price determined by The Company. Core will be returned freight collect if
customer requests it back.
ALL CORES MUST
BE RETURNED WITH AN The Company CORE TAG.
JUNK YARD AND
EXTREMELY RUSTED CORES ARE NOT ELIGIBLE FOR CORE CREDIT.
NOTE: Please
be aware that many later model engine blocks and cylinder heads
may not be acceptable for core credit because they cannot be rebuilt
due to the thin wall castings used. Castings are more likely to
crack and cylinder wall thinness will not allow boring beyond .030
or .040.
Engines:
When, after inspection, an engine block is determined acceptable,
core credit will be issued. Any necessary charges for labor or junk
and missing components (i.e., sleeving a cylinder or replacing a
rod) will be based on current The Company prices and deducted from the credit.
When, after
inspection, an engine block must be junked, a salvage credit of
20% of core charge will be allowed providing that the entire core
has been returned.
Junk cores will
be held for 30 days from the date returned to The Company Phoenix and will
be scrapped at that time unless notice is received. Cores must be
returned within 90 days of purchase for full credit.
Engine cores
returned without all original main caps bolted to the block are
not acceptable.
Please Note:
Customers will be charged a $35.00 processing / inspection / handling
fee for each engine core or component returned to the customer by
The Company per customer request.
Custom
Build Engines:
Customer core rebuilds are subject to inspection. If unit is damaged
or junk there will be additional charges to repair or replace. Custom
Build units should be less all pans, covers, manifolds, accessories,
and accessory brackets. The Company is not responsible for any accessory
item.
If a customer
request we clean and install pans and covers on an engine, an additional
minimum charge of $75.00 will be made.
If The Company has an
exchange unit available and the customer wants an engine custom
built, an additional 10% charge (10% of price) will be added.
Cylinder
Heads:
All cylinder head cores are subject to a complete factory inspection.
Cracked or broken cylinder heads are not eligible for core credit.
No salvage credit will be issued.
Please Note:
Customers will be charged a $10.00 processing / inspection / handling
fee for each cylinder head core returned to the customer by The Company
per customer request.
Crankshafts:
1. Crankshaft cores must be like for like
2. Crankshaft noses must be free of pipe wrench grooves and other
nicks and gouges.
3. Keyways and threaded holes must be undamaged.
4. Crankshaft journals worn in excess of .022" will be subject
to charges for welding.
5. Crankshaft journals worn in excess of .070" will not be
acceptable for core credit.
6. Worn and grooved thrust surfaces will be subject to charges for
welding. Excessive thrust wear will junk a crank core.
7. Crankshafts which have been balanced are not acceptable for core
credit.
8. Crankshaft sensor wheels and gears must be undamaged.

Customers will be charged a $10.00 processing / inspection / handling
fee for each crank core returned to the customer by The Company per customer
request.
Small
Parts:
Cores for connecting rods, rocker shafts, etc., must be returned
to the factory or warehouse fully assembled and without visible
damage.
PROTECT
YOUR INVESTMENT IN CORES

Take
in only the exact same core as the unit purchased. |
2. |
Look
for obvious visible damage.
A. Freeze cracks, lifter bores broken or cracks in the lifter
area.
B. Broken rods, main bearing caps, crankshafts, cams or mounting
bosses. |
3. |
Collect
a deposit on all cores. |
4. |
When
in doubt, call The Company for information. |
